NATIONALISTS' STARTLING ALLEGATIONS.

WANG'S ALLEGED COMPLICITY WITH REDS.

INTERCEPTED WIRELESS MESSAGES AS EVIDENCE.

A Reuter telegram despatched from Nanking on Wednesday stated that the Government was shortly communicating with the Powers proving from the evidence of intercepted wireless messages that the recent Communist activities were attributable to Wang Ching Wei.

In fullment of this announcement, the Nanking Government yesterday, issued a communiqué containing the texts verbatim of intercepted wireless messages alleged to have been despatched by Wang Ching Wei to Li Tsung Jen and Feng Yu Hsiang, respectively:--

NANKING, August 7.

Recalling Wang Ching Wei's role in the Communist régime at Haukow, in the spring of 1997, his complicity in the sanguinary Red rising at Canton in December, 1997, and substantiating its charges that Wang Ching Wei is still hand in glove with the Reds,. the Nationalist Government has issued a lengthy communiqué giving verbatim two wireless messages from Wang Ching Wei to Li Tsung Jen, the leader of the Kwangsi troops, and Feng Yu Hsiang, respectively, urging closer co-operation than heretofore with the Communists, who are ravaging South China, and incidentally throwing interesting sidelights on the political conditions in North Cbina.

Wang's Alleged Wireless Telegram to La Tsung Jen.

In a wireless message to Li Tsung Jen on July 31, Wang Ching Wei states:-

Since my arrival at Peiping considerable progress has been made in the enlarged party conference regarding the organisa tion of the party, and the Government drafts of the various plans are also ready and are now awaiting final deliberations. Recently, however, Yen Hai Shan seems to have taken a rather sceptical attitude towards me, and the Wester Hills' group of Conservatives also seems to be secretly conspiring against me. I am apprehensive lest I cannot have a free hand, and I sincerely hope that your army will co-operate with the Communist and other fiendly troops and make trouble in Hudan and the South-West according to my prearranged plans, so as to threaten the Govern- ment's rear and also enhance my position here. Yesterday, Chang Fat Fui telegraphed me reporting that the troops of our allies, Chu Teh, Mao Chak Tung and Pang Teh Hwai (notorious Com munist leaders) have already occupied Changsha and Yochow. The Hunan troops are now completely crippled, while reinforce- ments from Kwangtung and Hupeh have not yet arrived. You should take this opportunity to march your troops into Human and effect a junction with Pang Teb Hwai and Ho. Lung. At the present moment, the force commanded by Chiang Kai Shek is concentrated along the Tientsin-Pukow Railway and Lunghai Rail. way lines, and is holding Feng Yu Hsiang and Yen Hsi Shan at hay. In view of the situation, I rely upon you to capture Wuhan and proceed immediately. As soon as our troops occupy Changsha and Yochow, we enn-march northward with little obstruction. As for the south-eastern provinces, I will ace that a coup d'etat is staged there at the onnortune moment. This will be the death blow to Chiang Kai Shek's troops. Let me know your decision immediately.-WANG CHING WEI."

:

Wang's Alleged Wireless Telegram to Feng Yu Hsiang.." Telegraphing from Peiping to Feng Yu Hsiang on the 2nd inst., Wang Ching Wei said:

"

"Recently the Communist armies have made their appearance ia Hunan and Hupeh and have scored many victories. This means a fatal blow to Chiang Kai Shek. Furthermore, according to a telegram received yesterday from Comrade Chang Fat Fui. these Communist troops are now preparing to launch a general offensive en Wuhan on the 10th inst., according to my previous plan. Kiukiang, Wuhu and other important cities on the Yangtze are expected to fall by the middle of August. I have already, tele- graphed Vice-Commander Li Tsung Jen to march his armies into Hunan. Meanwhile, Comrade Chang Fat Fui is doing his best to establish friendly relations with the various Communist armies in Hunan, Hupeh, Anbwei and Kiangsi. Should you have any opinion to offer in this connection, please do not hesitate to wire me. WAND CHING WEL."

PEPING, August 7.

A strange situation has arisen

owing to the heavy rains, causing a washout on the Peking-Mukden Railway hetween Tientsin and Pei- taiho.

Owing to the August bank holi- day, an unusually large number of the staffe of the Legations, taipans and other business men spending the week-end at Peihaibo have been marooned there this week, and the result of this has been only one bank manager at Tien- tsin, and the whole of the Tientsin business has been, disorganised.

One bark manager from Peipiog proceeded to Tientsib, as a bank there was unable to carry on.

The foreign Ministers who are spending their holidays at Peitaihio have been unable to receive docu- ments from Peiping.
