DULEEPSINGHI AND HAMMOND AT THE TOP OF THE BATTING LIST.

Lospor... August 1. County cricket matches were Invoured with fairly good wea ther during the week, but the majority of the matches had to be decided on the first innings play. Middlesex were the only County, to take the full points as Worcester.

Many of the Test match players were in the honours list. Duleepsinghi came near a double-century before he was beaten, while Peebles bowled very successfully for Middlesex.

A later message gives the scores in the, match between Glamorgan and the Australians at Swansea. The tourists batted first on Saturday end at the end of the day they had lost two wickets for 149, including 53 by Pensford.

MATCHES IN PROGRESS.

The two-year old daughter of a Woosung resident died last week and was buried at once on a vacant piece of land near by. On the same afternoon, an official of the Woo- sung Model Health District hap pened to pass the place when he heard the crying of a child. A the result of an investigation, he" dug | up the ground and discovered the small casket containing the body of the child. This was forced open and the child was found slive again.
