The tragic fall from an aeroplane of Captain Alfred Toewenstein, the Belgian financier, had a sequel in the Chancery Court, recently.

A claim is being made by me. her husband's will, and guardian, of their son, Robert, who inherits the bulk of the estate, against the British Foreign and Colonial Cor. poration, Ltd., investment bankers.

Loewenstein. the sole executrix of

Mr. Stuart Bevan, K.C., for.. Mme. Loewenstein, wid he had a motion for an order to bring into court securities of the value of £300,000.

Mme. Loewenstein daimed the re- turn of those securities from the Corporation. Counsel had agreed lo ea order in which all the shares claimed were to be banded over to the Bank of England instead of into court...

It was provided that the shares: specified in the schedule which were in dispute should he put in a lox. It was in effect a payment into

court.

Mr. Justice Clauson inspected the terms of the draft order, and said be thought that it was in a form. which would work all right.

NICOLA'S MAGIC.

MYSTERY AND HUMOUR AT THE "STAR.”.

Another crowded "house" the Star Theatre, Kowloon, last night was astounded and bewilder ed by the truly amazing show given by Nicola, one of the greatest ex ponents of the art of magic in the world. Each net was more mystir ing than the one before. and Nicole's performance was fully ap preciated by an enthusiastic but amazed audience. ·

Nicola is supported by a company of artists, and assistants, and bringa with him over fifty tons of gorgeous) Acenery and effects. In some of the scenes, Nicola represents a famous mystic whom he has met on his travels.

The first scene is at the Emperor's" Court at Peiping, with Nicola "as the Royal Chinese conjuror, Ching Ling Foo, in a series of startling celestial mysteries.

The next

scene takes one to India, with Nicola as the Hindu fakit, Hassan Bux, presenting his Oriental mysteries before the famous Duratalla Palace at Eyder- abad, where he does the famous Hindu basket trick.

In Egyptian surroundings Nicola! appears as the Royal Egyptian mystic, Prince Rameses Abbas, in a number of astounding, weird feats from the land of the Pharaohs.

His next performance is that][ of Blucy, an eccentric burlesque magiciar, from the Argentine, in a series of feats of necromantic fun, assisted by Herman Holmberg, the world's worst juggler, in tricks and chatter.

One of the big scenes is the stage of Nicola's own theatre in Mor mouth, Illinios, U.S.A., with par phernalia, illusion and effects built in Nicola's own workshop, under his qwn supervision.

Nicola and his company are here. for one week, and the opportunity of seeing them should not be missed.
