The medical examination which it is now proposed should be in sisted upon in Manchester is only intended to apply, as in London, to the drivers of public vehicles, and the nature, of it has not yet been decided.
JULY AND AUGUST.
Two great motoring events will take place in Ireland during July and Augast, the Second Irish In- ternational Grand Prix run over a
course in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 19, and the Royal Automobile
over the Ards Cincuit, Belfast, on Saturday, August
It will be recalled, for instance, TWO EXCITING EVENTS IN that at the last annual meeting of the British Medical Association, which was held in Manchester, the delegates refused to approve of the recommendation of the executive council that although it was un- satisfactory that fitness for driving should be ignored entirely in the granting of licences the question was not one upon which the asso ciation was called upon to make a pronouncement,

Probably the most interesting entry for the Second Irish Inter- national Grand Prix is that of Herr R. Carraciola (Germany), who wor the Royal Automobile Club Trophy event last August, and expects to make new records for the course in Dublin with his Mercedes-Benz. Captain Malcolm Campbell has entered a team of three Mercedes- Benz for both races, one of which wil be driven by Cav. Campari, the Italian who was second in the Trophy race last year. Bentley's are to be represented as strongly in the Grand Prix Race as last July Four Irish entries have been' received, and Mr. A. W. Fox has entered a team of three Talbots, thus bringing back into the road- racing game name which was famous five years ago when Talbots carried off the principal continental prizes. Phoenix Park, nearly a mile and a half from the centre of Dublia, will attract an enormous crowd of spectators for this great) sporting event.

19,000 MILES COVERED IN TWO YEARS.
Pioneers in a journey which took them into 14 countries, over hazard. oua and almost impassable roads, sometimes blazing their own trails through mountains, jungles and deserts, two Argentine youths ar rived in New York recently, com pleting a 19,000-miles automobile trip from Buenos Aires.
The courageous Argentine trek- kers, Adam Stoessel and his brother Andrew, took two years to make the trip. They left Buenos Aires in a Chevrolet car ón April 10, 1999.
Though their parents and 10 bruthers and sisters discouraged the ides a too hazardous and too un- likely to succeed, the boys get out from Buenos ires three weeks: after determining on the venture.
(Though naturally pleased with the success of their venture, both voyagers declared they would not attempt the expedition again un- der any circumstancea.
They speak Spanish and German, but are unable to express them- selves in English. Through an in- terpreter they described their trip in detail. Asked what was neces- sary to accomplish such a journey, they were reluctant to agree that it could be done again under simi- Jar eircumstances but compromised with the requirements of: A good automobile, plenty of money and an unconquerable, spirit.

• Film Record Taken. Twenty-five thousand feet of ano- tion picture film taken during, the long jaunt served to bear out the thrilling account they gave of the journey. More than 6600 gallona of gasoline and 43 tyres were used during the run. No check was kept on oil consumption.
