FITTING THE GRAMOPHONE PICK-UP.
IMPORTANCE
As the current generated by the pick-up is to replace the rectified or detected radio signals, it is obvious that only the low frequency amplifier portion of the set is required.
OF CORRECT ALIGNMENT.
(BY COHERER."]
"
The simplest and most favoured for this method of connection resistance is for it to be joined across the terminals of the pick-up, so that the voltage may be varied before it is passed to the grid of the first amplifier.
The previous article, explaining the action of the recorded impres- sion af sound on the pick-up, should be sufficient to convince readers of the importance of accuracy of track- ing over the complete surface of the record.
Correct Alignment. Obviously, for the most perfect

Connection to Sat.
Having arrived at a satisfactory position for the pick-up, the next point to corsider is its connection to the radio-set.

Volume Control.
It is frequently the case that the voltage generated by the pick-up is

That the swivel position of a greater than the maximum input gramophone tone-arm does not that the low frequency amplifier always function perfectly as a car employed will handle without dis-rier for the electrical instrument is becoming increasingly evident To avoid this, and alad to bring from the fact that later models of the volume of sound to within the pick-up are supplied complete reasonable limits when a powerful with a carrier arm with detailed amplifier is used, a volume control instructions, as to the mounting of in the form of a variable resistance the base portion on the turn-table

HAVE YOU HEARD THESE?.
Here are lata of long-wave .. and short-wave stations which should be picked up by anyone in Hong Kong who has a mode- rately good set suitable for re- calving such signals. Success in picking up these stations also depends very largely upon tav. ourable atmospheric conditions. Readers are invited to add to this list should they succeed in picking up any station not "in- cluded in either of these lists.
