BANKRUPTCY COURT.

AN APPLICATION FOR

DISCHARGE. ·

Saturday, the Chief Justice (Sir In the Bankruptcy Court of

Joseph Kemp) dealt with an ap- plication made by Messrs. G. P. and H. A. Lammert for discharge, an adjudication being made against them in 1925.

In giving judgment, his Lord- ship said that in view of the small. amount of dividend, he had no al ternative but to suspend discharge, but considering the length of time which has elapsed since adjudica- tion, and in view of the Official Receiver's report, the discharge might be suspended for a nominal "period only, which would be for

three months.

LESSON SERMON.

FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, * SCIENTIST, HONG KONG.

"God the preserver of man" WEB the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday June 15.

The Golden Text was: "Let in- tegrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. Redoemo Israel, O God, out of all his trop bles" (Pa. 25 21,2).

Among the citations which com- prized the Lesson-Sermon wag the following from the Bible: Thoug art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thon shalt compass me about with 'songa of deliverance....Many soTTOWS shall be to the wicked: but he that: trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall cumpees him about. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in beart (Pa. 22: 7, 10, 11).

:

The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Scienca text-book, "Sci- ence and Health with Key to the Seriptures." by Mary Baker Eddy: "To hold yourself "superior to thing", because God made you superior to it and governs man, is true, wisdom. To fear sin is to misunderstand the power of Love

and the divine Science of being in man's relation to God-to doubt His government and distrust His omnipotent care" (P. 231).
