As to the coup d'etat in Foochow, the situation has become less seri- ous, according to a Foochow tele- gram. The rebels under Lu. Haing Pang having been repulsed; there has been no more fighting near the city since Tuesday. The "Nanking Government is reported to have dispatched two gumboats and four aeroplanes to assist the loyal troops under Liu Ho Ting. They are ex- pected to arrive in Foochow in a day or two

Lu, the rebel leader, has declared his allegiance to Yen- Hai Shan, who has promised him the chair- manship of the Fakien Provincial Government, when the Government troops are ousted from the pro- vince. Yen bas also ordered him to attack Eastern Kwangtung, as 5000 as the loyal troops in Fizkien are driven off.
