PRISONER FOUND GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER.
A verdict that they found the prisoner to be guilty of man slaughter was brought by the jury at the Criminal Sessions yester day in the case in which a Japanese was charged with the murder of a Chinese cook on board the s.a. Tanda.
The Judge (Mr. Justice Wood) accepted this verdict, but re- marked that he did not agree with the jury, as the verdict was not the proper one in accordance with the evidence, Prisoner was sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment.
