GERMANY'S "STRONG MAN" AT THE HELM.
YOUNG CHANCELLOR'S LEAP TO FAME.
WELDS OPPOSING PARTIES IN NEW CABINET.
Dr. Heinrich Bruening, Germany's. present Chancellor, unlike many of his predecessors, has become an object of intense interest both with- in the country and abroad. He is one of those rare men who have leapt to fame overnight. Until Hindenburg designated him to head the Cabinet a few weeks ago, Dr. Bruening was one of the most active members of the Catholic party and scarcely known beyond the Catholic (non-socialist) trade unions. The names and reputations of previous" Chancellors were eclipsed by the Foreign Minister, as long as the late Dr. Stresemeru held that post. But Dr. Bruening assumed the dominant role in Eis Cabinet from the moment he took office.
