CANTON, June 4. Sharp disagreement has arisen between the French Cathedral of Yatack Road and the Canton Muni- cipal Government over the latter's demand for the retrocession of a part of the French property.
It will be remembered that the Canton Government had charged the French Cathedral with viola tion of its original agreement with the Government in that it bad turn ed a part of the leased land into a cominercial enterprise. The Can- ion Government argued that it is therefore justified in its demand It is prepared to pay back to the French the money it had expended on the buildings and houses in dis- pute, but only according to its own
estimate.
