MASTER AND FAMILY KIDNAPPED,

A piracy on a cargo junk, 'io which three of the six people on board were kidnapped, was report. ed to the Police by Chau Lia, who, together, with two other members of the crew, was fortunate enough to escape from the pirates. The six pirates were all armed with re

volvers, and besides kidnapping the master, his wife and the soa, they also took away the cargo which was valued at $9.820. The incident occurred in Chinese waters

on the 14th instant.

The junk, H.K. Licence "No." T3294H. is owned by the San Kwong Lee Trading Company, and was voyage from Hong Kong to Sze Kiu, Pun U District, with a cargo of rice. cement and wood dye, and having on board the master, his son, a female cook and two seamnen. When the junk was sailing near the fishing stakes about five miles off Tong Kee Island, an oyster host appeared at the stern of the junk at a distance of two hundred yards. The men on the boat shouted and ordered the junk people to stop, at the same time threatening to fire if their order was not complied with.

The junk stopped and the oyster boat went alongside and six men armed with revolvers boarded the junk. They drove the crew into the forward hold of the ship which wag steered to the beach of Sha Tsing in the Sun On district. Her cargo was then taken astore by the
