LAWN BOWLS LEAGUE MATCHES.

CHAMPIONS BEATEN AT BOWLING GREEN CLUB.

THIRD "DOUBLE" FOR CIVIL SERVICE Č.C.

TAIKOO CHECKED ON OWN GROUND.

Saturday's lawn bowls matches gave double victories for the Civil Service and Bowling Green Club, some of the games provid ing small margins. The 'Civil Service, whose junior team 'won by" only, one shot the Yacht Club, have so far carried the day in all their three matches. The Bowling Green Club accounted for both the Craigeugower teanu, the champions being beaten by four' shots. Kowloon Dock turned the corner this time.

Club de Recreio and Taikoo seniors shared the points at King's Park--a very fair result of a closely contested game. Taikoo Juniors, however, collapsed at home in giving Recreio their first win. The Electricians also fored badly in their home meeting with Kowloon C.C.

Brilliant weather favoured tennis players on Saturday, and altogether a very large programms of league matches was decided. The Chinese and Indian Recreation Clubs continue to add to their respective lists of wins," while the Kowloon Indian Tennis Club created a surprise by beating the Civil Service Cricket Club in the "C" división at King's Park by six sets to three.

Hong Kong Cricket Club did well to beat the South China Athletic Association by seven sets to two, while the fixture between Kowloon Cricket Club and Chinese Recreation Club in the senior section was postponed,

In the "B" division, Civil Service Cricket Club received a walk-over from the European Y.M.C.A.

Amazing Recovery.

Stout, however, was the victim of the most amazing recovery ever seen at Sandwich. "At the end of the morning he lead Moe by four hales. He won the first three in the afternoon to become soven up, but Moe demolished this big lead by the time. the twelfth hole had reached and finished by holing out the course in '67. Stout ung on hravely to the eighteenth where Moe, playing like a wizard, almost holed gut his second shot.

The Americans sustained their ne curacy throughout the whole match and deserved their victory.
