Westinghouse rose 4 tu 137: American Can was up 3 tl; General Electric was up 31184; and Johns Manville was op 3 to 19

Motor equipments were at the best levels during recent weeks Gitulpear Tire & Rubber clound up 14 82, while U.S. Rubber gained quarter to close at 28. General

Motors was up half a point to close Chrysler gained a point to ela at 33; Hudson was up to 44 and Packard gained to close at 193.

Coppers continued firm, following heavy metal purchases from abroad. Anaconda was up 1 to 002;

Calumet & Heela was up to 181 American Smelting gained a point "to dos at 71; and Nevada Con- wolidated 'was up to 1. Foreign interests were still buying. it was reported.

Oils Firm and Rails Standy. Oils were likewise fra. Standard Oil of New York was up to 36; Standard of New Jersey rose I to 77; Texas Corp, was up to 573; and Continentál. was up 1k to 201.

Rails were steady. Southern Pacific gained half a point to close at 12 Penneylvania held at 78; New York Central was off an eighth to 1 Erio held at 48: Union Pacife gained 7 to clow at 225); Canadian Pacific was np 14 to 2001; and Northern Pacific was unchang rd at 53.
