Not so very long ago we girls were moving at a terrific pace, dashing here, there, and everywhere -making quick time whatever we did. Then we began to see foolish ness of it all. We were tired of so much waste motion-tired of the straight little clothes we had to wear to go through all these waste efforts.

Then began the Renaissance of Fashion. We girls had more leisure more time to think about what we were doing-more time to plan for pictorial effects. So developed the afternoon vogue It was-a-12- vival of sophistication, charm and; exquisite dignity. We revived the tea hour-we planned leisurely Bridge. parties-we learned how to -make haste slowly..

We needed new clothes to create the mood of the tea hour. So came back into existence the afternoon wardrobe. Slinky clothes are the rule of the three to five hours. Skirts that trail-and sleeves that are tricky are important now.
