CLOSE OF THE SEASON TO-DAY.
UNCERTAIN FATE OF SOM? TEAMS.
Fort Vale did well in defeating Doncaster on Thursday to finish at the top of the Third Division (Northern, Section). Stockport coa- tinued to be very strong rivals for the hobour until this stage, having at one time held the lead. Port Vale, therefore, earn promotion to the Second Division, together with Plymouth from the Southern Section."
Sheffield Wednesday have secured the League championship for the second yes in succesaion. The issue in the Second Division is still an certain so far as the second team for promotion is concerned. Black. pool are marked down för promo- tion, while Chelsea and Oldham have to decide to-day which of them is to go up. The three teams are placed in the following position at the top of the League, table :-'-
