RELEGATION TEAMS IN THE BALANCE.
(THROUGH REUTER'S AGENCY.]
LONDON, April 28. Sheffield Wednesday, having al- ready won the championship of the English League, shared the points on their own ground to-day when they played a postponed fixture. Everton's victory at Huddersfield has an important bearing as to the two teams which will have to drop cut of the First Division. They are still last, but a victory for them on Saturday and defeats for two of the teams in the danger zone might enable them to survive.

In cross-examination, the stable said he understood her father was an Englishman, and she mar. ried an American in 1926. Records showed that he went to Germany in 1997.
In the last two years I daresay you have seen her name in the papers a great deal?-Her stage name: not her real name.
Mr. O'Connor said Dolores was born in Bloomsbury. Two months after her marriage Lattimore said he was not bound to maintain her, as he had a wife living in America. They parted company, and she had. not seen him since,
"If this case is fought out it might involve the question of the legality of her marriage," said Mr. O'Connor. "If her story is true Lattimore committed bigamy and she never lost her status of a British subject."
Tears.
Dolores, at the magistrate's re quest, stood up, holding a handker chief to her eyes.
Mr. Fry: Until you have proved that Lattimore committed bigamy you must notify as an alica. You must not give the police any further trouble.
In fairness to Lum, it must be mentioned that the scores do not earry a real impression of the run of play. Admittedly, on the day's play, the Filipino was the better man, but Lum, too, showed flashes of brilliance, and, if anything, ap- peared to know the game better than his opponent. Whereas the Filipino concentrated on hard hitting, the Chinese nixed his hard shots.well with some tricky cuts. However, they gave the impression that when they meet the Rumjahn cousins in a doubles game this afternoon, they will give the Indian lads a good and hard fight, though the general"I opinion is that the local pair will more than hold their own against these clever exponents of the game.
This afternoon's match is schedul- ed to start at 4.45 p.m., and all those interested are advised to be on the ground early, as the book ings promise to be very heavy.
