The sailors carried the taking a large part in local cricket day, winning six fights out of next year. K.C.C. started badly eleven. but F. Zimmers. E. F. Fincher, Goodwin and A. T. Les all played nseful knocks. The Argylls' attack is not very strong perhaps, but in Black they have a useful slow bowler, who will. I fancy, get good many wickets in Incal cricket. Yeonun also bowled well. For the regiment, Dewar Durie played a nice innings. He is a useful and steady bat for the first twenty or thirty, and then he opens out a bit. Pto. Taylor and Major-Connel- Rowan also added materially to the Acore, but they failed to reach the K.C.C. score of 201 for nine wickets

by 17 ruas even though they collect e 31 in extras. Leo going on for 6 overs only had three wickets for twelve runa, while F. W. S. Smith and Lyal had four and three apiece at a larger cost.

GOLF NOTES.

[BY "WRYNECK"]

Warm weather during the last fortnight had livened up the Course considerably, but the rainstorm made the greens very difficult on Sunday, and they would have been improved considerably by cutting Bt any rate in the immediace vicinity of the hole, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Competitions.

D. J. Gilmore is to be congratu- Inted on his consistent scoring in the Shanghai Visitors' Cup, and his score of 93 less 11-72 also took the First Prize for the Medal Round.

Mr. and Mrs. Bonaar went round without a cross word in a net 73 to win the Mixed Foursomes. They might quite easily have had a score of but for a bad mistake in tauties at the Dog Legged Hole, when they nearly ran into double igures.

The strong Kowloon batting side broke down badly, at the start, though it must be remembered that neither Brace nor Ramsay were turning out for them. Lawrence managed to collect 26, mostly by his favourite draw shot played to a ball on the sticks, but the Fiocher brothers had blob apiece (IA.B. Newstead on points. imagine this is unprecedented in a single innings), while Freddie Zimmern, Goodwin, Smith and Lyai. only collected 15 runs between them. Tinker Lee and W. C. Hung restored the balance a bit and had 60 apiece. They certainly had a bit of luck, but they deserved it for their very plucky stand. They could not, however, pull the game "round entirely, and Summers, going on at the end, had a couple of wicketa: for 14. Reid bowled very

well and has evidently benefited | from kik rest. He had four for 34 while Block, whose alows, I gather, are more dangerous than they look, bad a similar number of wicketa for 32 runs. The Club won by 100 rana exactly after an excellent day's cricket.
