KUOMINTANG PROTEST AGAINST. VISIT. -

After the ques tion had been discussed, the Tang Pu resolved to send a telegram to Nanking asking the Government to forbid the Japanese flotilla.coming to Hunkow; and also resolved, to send out a circular telegram urging the whole nation to oppose this in- vasion of China's ialaud ways. New Tricks by Robbers. The police in the City, writes the Hankow correspondent of the N-C. Daily News, have discovered" a new method which is being used by the daylight robbers. It came to light when a boy aged 16 was sent by his employer to collect 8160 from a bank. The boy had with him a negotiable document and as he went along another big boy bumped into him deliberately. The usual cares followed and then the aggresor knocked the messenger' Goy down and while pretending to struggle with him inserted his hand into his pocket. Chinese pedestri- ans usually leave street-fights alone, but this time the cries of the men- senger, who realized that he was being robbed, brought, help. The aggressor was arrested and at the police station disclosed the fact that he had been trained to pick
quarrels with a view to robbery.
He said that one method was to
insult boys wearing silver bangles and rob them during the ensuing fight.
The Wreck of the Falhu.
A Chinese salvage company has contracted to raise the steamer Feihu. The river is rising and the wreck is being steadily covered with silt, so that the task is a much harder one than it would have been if prompt measures had been taken. It is understood that the greater part of the payment for the "work is dependent on the suc cess of the operations.
