General Motors featured the strong spots, reaching a new high for 1030 and closing up 2 to 48 . Hudson was up a point to 563. Chrysler likewise gained a point to close at 30, Willys Overland advanced half a point to 9 and Packard held at 29. The Department of Labour announced that automotive produc- tion is now upon the increase

De Pont followed General Motors with a good advance and closed up 61 to 1381.
