GOLF NOTES.
(BY WRYNECK, JUN.]
I hope you have noticed the change in the authorship of these Notes this week. Wryneck ennie is to see me awathed to the chin in muffler and overcoat, weighed down with valises from which protruded bits of uninteresting male attire, showing the haste of his packing, and asked if I would substitute for him. Apparently the slump in silver has made his silary wither like an unreplaced divot, and he has found a sudden trip up the coast to be the only remedy against March shroffs. My last view of bim was on the deck of his steamer showing practice awings to faginating lady co-passenger whom he had introduced himself by means of the old Hyde Park game ----“excuse me, your handkerchief" Wryneck always carries a apare feminine hanky travelling.

The Dunbar animal was asked for one more effort a few yards from home, and his immediate response brought him victory. This was the most thrilling race of the day, as the tussie, for the lead took place over every yard of the last furlong home, and although Mr. Frost lost, he made a thoroughly good show. Later in the afternoon he rode a very con vincing race on Moon, and an doubtedly showed himself as a very, much improved jockey.

An interesting exhibition of the drawings and paintings done by the pupils of the Central British School in their art classes during the year, was opened yesterday in the school.
School children's "drawings, especi
ally in those institutions which prepare the pupils for the manual examinations of the Royal Drawing Society, do not vary greatly. There are the ships and aeroplanes of the smaller boys, the "people" of the little girls, the carefully shaded groups and the floral designs. Generally there is a good deal of brush work, but this does not ap pear to find much favour in the Central British.
