World's Speed Record-Flight- Lieutenant G. Stainforth, on September 30, 1929, at Calshot, on a Gloster-Napier 8. Speed, 336.3 m.ph. This performance gave to Great Britain its first world's greatest speed record.
Two days later, on September 12, 2029, Squadron-Leader A. H. Orle bar, on a Supermarine-Rolls-Royce 5.6 beat all previous world's records for greatest speed, by attaining! Then there are others to whom 337.7 n.p.h. This record still stands honour is due. We find as one of nd is 39 m.p.b. in excess of the the directors of the Supermarine Italian record of 1928.
