SOUTH CHINA AND ROYAL NAVY DRAW AFTER

EXTRA TIME.

R.A. HOLD CHINESE ATHLETIC AT

SOOKUNPO0.

By taking point from the Chinese Athletic in the senior game at Sookumpoo, the R.A. did the Royal Navy and S.LI. a good turn. It is possible for the S.II. to top the league but they have a very atrenuous programme: of six more games, in addition to the Shield final The Royal Navy baye a very easy league programme and are still interested in the Shield. The ques- tion of the moment is Will the Royal Navy get the double." They have to play Kowloon and the Hong Kong Police only. Chinese Athletic are still in the running but they have to meet Kowloon, Somer set L.I, and South China.

SOUTH CHINA. ROYAL NAVY.

This Shield semi-final was played on the Hong Kong F.C. ground and anded in a goalless draw after extra

time.

The Royal Navy put up a fine defence in the absence of Jones and MeGregor, and as H.M.S. Kent is likely to be in port when the replay takes place, the Royal Navy should not go down. South China took the field without Li Ting Sang their right back, but Tam Kong Pak was a good substitute. The teams lined

out as under:-

South China: Pau Ka Ping: Tam Kong Pak and Lau Mau; Leung Tin Chan, Wong Mee Shun and Leung Wing Tak; Chen Shai Hon. Pau Ka Ling, Pau Ka Chuen, Ip Pak Wah and Ip Yun Sum.

Royal Navy Jarvis; Cordory and Ward: Timberlake, Hughes and Evans; Thompson, Gray, Pre- cock, Potts and Hiscock.

Referee: Mr. W. E. Hollands. The opening exchanges favoured South China, but there was little between the teams. The forwards were unsteady in front of goals and several chances were lost by erratic shooting. Half-time no score.

The second half opened with a strong attack by South China but the Navy defended soundly, Jarvis clearing well. The Navy then beld the upper hand and South China. showed signs of falling off, but they kept their goal intact.

All through extra time Pau Ka Ping had a busy time in goal. The Navy now found their shooting boots but South China put their hacks to the wall and defended soundly.
