HUDDERSFIELD. AND... ARSENAL ENTER SEMI-FINAL,

SECOND DIVISION TEAMS DRAW.

Saturday's matches in the English Cup provided close encoun- tors except in the case of the Arsenal, who entered the semi-finals by virtue of a 3-0 victory over West Ham United. Aston Villa's progress ended with their defeat on their own ground by Hadders-- field. Notts Forest and Hull, both Second Division teams, drew in their matches with the seniora.

Rangers and Partick made further advance in the Scottish Cup. Hamilton beat St. Mirren by the odd goal in seven. A replay is necessary in the case of Dundee and Hearts.

There were no changes of any importance in League positions, but Oldham's leadership in the Second Division is being, seriously 1st 2nd 3rd challenged by Blackpool. They hold the top place jointly, with

only goal" average separating them. 3

LESSON SERMON.

FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST HONG KONG.

"Christ Jesus" was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, March 2

The Golden Text was: "Whoso ever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him" (1 John 5: 1).

Among the citations which com-. prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: "Then he called his twelve disciples toge ther, and gave them power and au thority over all devils, and to cure diseases. After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come... Therefore said he unto them... And into whatsoever city ye en- ter...heal the sick that are there- in, and say unto them, The king- dom of God is come nigh unto you" (Luke 9: 1,10: 1, 2, 8, 9).

The Lesson-Bermon also includ- ed the following passages from the Christian Science text-book, 'Bei- ence and Health with Key to the Beriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiri tual foundation of Christ-healing. He taught his followers that his religion had a divine Frinciple, which would cast out error and heal, both the sick and the sinning. He claimed no intelligence, action, nor life separate for God" (p. 136).
