A new vocalist, Mra. A. Rein- shagen, was introduced to music lovers of the Colony, and very pleasing her items proved. She has a small, sweet voice and gave us & selection of French Bergerettes which were delightful in their spirit and music. Probably Mra. Reinshagen felt little strange facing a Hong Kong audience for the first time, but her reception can have left her in no doubt that we liked her singing very much, and if the new tones of her voice were due in part to this strangeness wo future occasion. may hear them more strongly on a

EPIDEMIC IN EAST.
The Epidemieological Congress has decided to include Bagdad, and Vladivostok in the list of ports with which the Bureau has con tinuous connection.
Only two coins and stamps are issued, their value corresponding in value to English penny and half- penny coins and stamps
The coins are only legal tender on the island, and the stamps are only recognised for postage there. Head of the "' King."
One side of the coin shows a head of the island's "king," or owner, the other bears a design of a puf fin's head.
The island is sometimes known as Puffin Island, and the coins are called "pufins"
The two stamps are in green and red, with a pumn design on each. The words "Lundy lights and leada aro arranged round the bird's head on the coins.
The chief occupations of the is land are farming, fishing, and horse-breeding. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful pri- vately owned islands round the coasts of Europe, and was bought by Mr. Harman in 1925. It con-
