SI,-. H. R. Wills, L.B.E., author of "Cantonese for Every- body," has consented to deliver a couraè ól twelvo lessons based on this book, if a suficient number of people will signify "their desire to avail themselves of this opportu- nity,

The class will be taught with Mr. Wills' work as a text-book, the lessons being taken in their regular order, so that students will be able to make good, progress within the period of lectures.

A preliminary lecture will "ba given on Friday next at 7 p.m. aad then the lessons will be given twicg a week at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Mr. Wills wishes to have letters from learners stating their difficul- ties, and will reply to these letters at his next following lessons. In this way a sound introduction can be obtained to the Cantonese lan-) guage practically without expense.

Giving evidence Mr. B. W. Bradbury of the Dairy Farm said that on February 1, he was travel- ling in a taxi near the Police Re- creation Club. A motor cyclist, | T.174 carrying a girl on the pillion passed him about 100 yards on the Monu ment side of the Club, the cycle going at a very steady pace. Süd- denly withess heard a crash "and saw that the motor eyele and ä lorry had come into collision at a corher by the car service station outside the Police Club.

Witness gave it as his opinion that the cycle, collided with the lorry which went on for about 12 yards after the impact. After hear. ing further evidence, the Magistrate dismissed the sammanste.
