RA. v. ROYAL NAVY.

The teams met in their return game at Sookumpoo, the Royal Navy winning by three clear goals. The line out was as under:-

R.A.-Fletcher; Taylor and Raw. lings; Gardner, Ward and W. Taylor, Davey, Cotton, Gill, Allan and Walker,

Royal Navy-Langlands; Mr- Gregor and Jonca; Watts, Tilley and Stephenson; Egan, Gray, Peacock, Cartwright and Dickinson.

The Royal Navy took the lead early in the game. Fletcher stop- ped a short from Peacock, and the Navy centre forward, following up, The sent the ball into the net. Navy were on top, and Fletcher End a busy time in goal. The goalie turned behind from a shot from Egan, bu the flag kick was fruit- *Ices.

Except for a couple of visits to the Navy goal, the B.A. wore de- fending, the Navy failed to, add to their score before "the interval. Half-time: Royal Navy '1, R.A. 9.

The Navy pressed when the game resumed, but shooting was very wild. Peacock snapped up a pass From Dickinson and sent in a hard drive which Fletcher did well to clear. The R.A. missed Olives and Joyce in the defence. Taylor had played a hard game at back, but the continued Navy pressure told ita tale, and he let in Cartwright to beat Fletcher with a well placed

This game was played on the Navy ground at Happy Valley, the home team winning by five goals to one. The importance of this attracted a large crowd for a junior game.

The Navy took the lead early, when Sortie shot in fgrom a pass. by Hiscock South China then took up the running, and Ip Yan Sura beat Wyatt. The game was keenly contested and there was no further scoring before the interval.

Resuming, the Navy swung the ball about, and had South China defence guessing. Thompson secur cd from a pass by Sorbie, and gave the Navy the lead again. Lau Kau conceded a corner, but South China cleared the flag kick. Evans sent Sobie in and he beat Wong from Several fouls were close range given in the closing hall. Playing at the Stadium the Athletic defeated Ewo by three clear goals. Ewo were forced to play on the defensive, and for twenty minutes they kept out persistent attacks by the Athletic. Ng Tak Wing then opened the score for the Athletic. Exo defended strongly and were only one down at the in- terval.

The second half was a repetition on the first half, the Athletio press- ing strongly, and the Ewo putting. up a very sound defence. Goals by Leung Tak Wing and Ho Choi Wan. gave the Athletic a win. Result:

LOCAL CRICKET.

CRAIGENGOWER AGAIN BEATEN.

There were two matches in each "division of the League on Saturday and the senior game resulted in wing for the Club and the University over Royal Navy and Craigengower Cricket Club respectively.

The junior games were also brought to definite conclusions; University beat Craigengowor seconds while Club de Recreio took full points from R.A.S.C. although the winners made only 73 runs.

LEAGUE-DIVISION 1.

H.K.O.C. v. ROYAL NAVY.

Playing at home the HK.0.0. beat Royal Navy by 73 runs. The Club batted fat and were given a goed start by. Duckitt (73) and Batger (37), and a useful contriba- tion of 31 from Armstrong belped to bring the scors to 183 for 6 wickets when the innings was de clared closed.

H.E. the C-in-C. was the most successful bowier for the Navy, tak- ing 2 wickets for 10 runs.

Although a double of their men played good knocks, the sailors could only total 110 runs. Sheffield waa top-scorer with 95 and Suther came next with 20. For the Club Divett took 3 wickets for 11 runs and Beck 2 for 17..

Although the Craigengower bowl- ers did well to get the University all out for 120, when the latter visited Happy Valley on Saturday, the home batsmen failed badly and the side were beaten by 23 runs.

At King's Park, the Recreio lads had an anxious time against the B.AS.C, but thanks to some good work by their, bowlers, they were lucky enough to come away with full points.

The Navy forced a corner end' following the flag kick, Dickinson banged in a shot that beat Chan all the way.

With fifteen minutes to go, the Chinese played up strongly but they found MacGregor and Jones hard to beat. It was left to Lai Wai Tong to open the score for the Chi- nese with a full force drive that Langlands had no chance to save.

The Chinese then went all out to level up but the Navy-defence held- out until the final whistle sounded.
