At the resumed hearing of the charges of piracy and murder against three Chinese at the Central Magistracy before Mr. E. W. Hamilton yesterday, the Captain of the s.s. Haiching and Mr. A. A. de Mello, third engineer, told their version of what took place when the ship was attacked by pirates on December 8.

In the course of the Captain's evidence he stated that the last worda of Mr. Woodward, -third officer of the ship, who died As a result of injuries werò: They have got me." Mr. Wood- ward died in one of the ship's lifeboats, the Chief Officer wis nessing his death.

Sin Iu Tak, who described him- self as a clerk, was given a com plimentary ticket for the Yee Wan Girls' School performance at the Star Theatre on Sunday. He duly went to the theatre but, to his annoyance, he was refused admit- tance, in spite of the fact that he presented a ticket.

According to his story the ticket- collector pushed him out. Ho re- sented this, of course, so he gave the ticket-collector a push in re- turn.
