FREE ADVICE FOR INVESTORS.

[BY KUFAN."]

Gossip often moves the market, but no investor should either buy or sell on market gossip only.

For the past week business in the share market had been fairly active, and come very large parcels of shares are reported to have changed hands. Itates, on the whole, show ed a marked improvement, and particularly in the case of China Lights, Cements, and Dairy Farmns.

The January Settlement passed off satisfactorily, and it is very on couraging to those interested in the local share-market to see this con- tinual improvement in the situation, as there can be no surer sign that

The Japanese Paper Manufactur ers' Association, reports the Japan Times, may before long adopt a resolution for quoting specially low export prices for the China market to offset the recent violent decline in bar silver prices. This policy 898 is in keeping with the Association's stand for encouraging China traffic in paper for which the organization has been granting a special bounty to the companies catering to that crade taking effect since November T160 last year.
