HEAVY FINE.

The engineer of the motor shooner Mong On No. of Chui Chow, was before the Marine Magistrate on the charge of leaving the Harbour of Victoria without first obtaining a clearance permit..

Defendant pleaded guilty, and saying that it was a very serious offence his Worship inflicted a fine af 8200, or three months.

SIX DAYS AGROUND!..

After being fast on the second bar near Wachow for six days, the Tai Hing returned to the Colony on 2,963 Tuesday night, and left again for

Wuchow last night,

7,488

It will be recalled that the Tai 3,100 Hing was one of the three vessels which grounded off Wuchow last week. When interviewed, one of the officers said that the water was very low, and had it not been for the fact that she struck a bank, the vessel could have been refloated at high water. As it was, the vessel took 11 days over the trip to and from Wuchow, instead of the usual 3,066 AITC.
