START OF THE SCOTTISH CUP MATCHES.

ELEVEN GOALS SCORED BY KILMARNOCK,

Scottish Cup matches in the first round played on Saturday produced some, exceptionally big scores, Kilmarnock (the holders), topping the list with 11 goals to on at home. Visiting teams were also in great form, and secured the greater part of the victories. Montrose scored eight goals in their away match with Solway Star, and Celtic also scored six clear goals. The Rangers surë vived by netting the only goal of the match. Three matches were drawn.

English League teams were all engaged in their regular fixtures, and there were no changes in the leading positions Blackburn received a surprise at Grimsby. Oldham, Second Division leaders, gave away one point to Nottingham Forest. Blackpool, their close rivals, failed to make any headway owing to their collapse at Tottenham.

Dr. Jesse Wiltshire reached his 84th birthday last Sunday, and joined the Hong Kong police thirty years ago. In 1901 he was made a warder at Victoria Gaol, and in 1810 becane príncipal warder. In 1907 and 1014 he went on leave, and soon after returning from leave in 1026 was made First Bailiff of the Supreme Court, which position he held at the time of his death.
