A good deal of time was wasted in the second half through the ball being sent to touch. Play was of an end to end nature and even throughout. Denmead had a chance when he stopped the ball on the slow and penalty line, but was Jones cleared. Civil Servied Cricket Club batted first and were all out for 60 runs, the opening bowlers of the Club, Divett (5 for 4) and Way (4 for 14) being in good form with the ball. Edmunds was top scorer with 21
runs.
Although the first two wickets of the, Club fell cheaply, good knocka by Mackenzie (47) and Hepburn (20) soon put the issue beyond doubt, and when the last wicket fell. the Club were 38 runs to the good. For C.S.C.C. Robertson took 6 wickets for 30 runs.
