There was only one First League match inst Saturday, when the Club drew with the Craigengower team. Frankly, the Club, in trying at one time to force the pace, very nearly lost. I have discussed the gamG with several members of the Club side (I did not see it) and I have gathered a fair idea of what happened. In the first place, the .C.C.C. batted very gallantly. I always considered Lim an excellent bat, and the Club could not either him or several others out," until a biggish score had been run The Club fielding this is Then, hearsay was jolly bad! when the C.C.C. bad got perhaps more runs than they should have, Omar bowled uncommonly well, and-well, the Club did not rise to the occasion! So it was a draw. It is very pleasant to End Omar bowl-issue. ing as well as he is doing this About ten years ago, I suppose, or perhaps a year or so more, Omar was about the best bowler in the Colony and he seems to be coming back to form. It is quite definite that Craigongower were much quicker in the field than the Club.

The U.S. Team.

As is our custom, the H.K.C.C. will meet the United Services eleven during the two days holiday at China New Year. As regards the Club side, it will be pretty much As it is now. There is little to choose between the side against the Army and that against the Navy. Richardana strengthens the batting, though, he seems lacking in concen- tration at present, while Alan Reid strengthens what is already a useful bowling side: GR. Sayer will also be back and I rather fancy he might get Hinton's place or Divett'e though the latter is, on his day a dangerous bowler. Ask Wright! I have, of course, rather assumed that Hancock will not play as he has not turned out since November.
