Mr. R. G. Shewan, who presided over the annual general meeting of the China Light & Power Co., Ltd., shareholders held a York Building, on Saturday, was able to give a very satisfactory review of the last year's working. Gross profit had increased to nearly $545,000 as against 8531,000 the previous year, and a final dividend of 9 per cent., making 14 per cent. for the year," had been recommended.
Units sold showed an, increase of 20 per cent, and so great was the Company's development that the Directors had sought the. service of Mr. A. H. Preece, a well-known London expert, who had reported most satisfactorily on the Company's position and policy
