RECORD VOYAGE BY EMPRESS BOAT.
HONG KONG TO LIVERPOOL IN 2 DAYS:
A cable from London states that the Empress of France arrived at Liverpool on Sunday afternoon,
December 8.
The steamer sailed from Hong Kong at noon on November 16 for n direct trip to Liverpool, via Bucz, and by arriving in Liverpool at noon on December 8, 'has made a record breaking trip, taking 22 days for the voyage.
The Empress of France was scheduled to return to Europe from Hong Kong vid Victoria, Vancouver and Panama Canal, but owing to the unfortunate accident to the Empress of Canada it was necessary for the Empress of Franco to return to the Orient, carrying the passen gers who had been booked for the Empress of Canada.
It should be obvious that the greater the number of listeners-in, the more funds will be available to secure good programmes. If these members of the public who hesitate to instala set, on account of com
grammes, rally around the Post Office Radio authorities and take out licences for sets, then the authorities will be in a better posi tion to gratify their desires.
