A REVIEW OF THE MALAYAN SIDE.
THE HONG KONG DAILY PRESS, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 1929.
Several-people-har
me recently that they thought the Malaya side was really a better one than either the Shanghai or Hong Kong clevens. And in n way, an looking back, I found I had very much the same sort of feeling up to the end of the games themselves. I hardly think so now, though I knew several people who would fay odds that Malaya would win both matches if played over again under, similar conditions.
Before considering the theory as a whole, or the side as a team
it might be well to give all the Agures in a table, showing the in dividual performances.

Leb us consider the batting of the team first. I happen u know that the critica in the F.M.S. considered that the probable weakness of the side would be in the batting, and they hoped that such a weakness, if existing, would be more than made up for, by the strength of the bowling. One ex cellent judge of the game told me that they did not expect to have more than one hundred and fifty runs scored against them in any single innings by either Shanghai or Hong Kong,
