HOME FOOTBALL RESULTS.

HEAVY SCORING IN THE ENGLISH LEAGUE,

BLACKBURN ROVERS SECURE EIGHT GOALS.

SATURDAY'S MATCHES..

Football matches in the English League on Saturday produced a total of 191 goals, of which 12% were scored by home teams. There were 93 home wins, nine away wins, tad cine drawn"games." Second Division visiting teams fared the worst, Cardiff City, only, taking full points while three others shared them..

There was some high scoring in all divisions, Blackburn' &3 against Burnley being an outstanding performance. Oldham Ath- letic scored six goals to nil against the Wolves in Division II. Plymouth-Luton 6-1, Swindon-Southend 3-1, Törquay-Wakall 32, Carlisle Chesterfield 6-0 were some of the best returns by Third Division teams.

Leeds United, Division I. lenders, were beaten, and would have lost the premier place to Manchester City but for the latter's draw at Grimsby, Blackpool and Oldham Athletic are keeping close together and the latter may still regain their lost place. Plymouth and Port Vale at the top of their respective sections are breaking away from the rest.

Eight Scottish visiting teams were beaten, Falkirk being the * only successful team, while Kinmarnock had to fight hard for oure point. „Aberdeen continue to lead with the Rangers close on their heels.
