FIRST VISIT TO PORT.
S.S. BELTANA AND KULMER. LAND.
Two vessels have made their first i visit to this port, namely, the P&O... Beltana and the Hamburg Amerika Linie motor vessel Kulmerland.
The Beltang arrived from London and Singapore with: 3,268 tons of iron rods, sulphate and general mer- chandise for this port, and she carries 4,003 tons of similar cargo for through ports. She was former- ly on the Australian run and was built in 1012 by Messrs. Cairs & Cò.,' Ltd., Greenook. She has a nett tonnage of 6,074 tors and gross 11,187 tons.
A Motor Vessel, Built in 1928 at the Deutsche Werft. A. G. Hamburg, the motor vessel, Kulmerland, arrived hera from Hamburg and Manila. She is owned by the Hamburg Amerika Linie, and Alessrs. Jebson are local agents. She has a net tonnage of 4,366 tons and gross 7,363 tons. Her motor engines develop 1,585 N.H.P. Captain Paul Kuttert is in command with a European crew of 57. She carried 888 tons of cargo for this port and 5,800 tons for through
ports."
