In response to urgent appeals from the people of northern Kwang tung the Canton Government is despatching Colonel Chen Wai Yuen to southern Fukien against the bandits who have been spread- ing devastation in that area. The Colonel, was sent on a similar ex- pedition some months ago but was recalled during the inter-Kwang war. Major-General Chiang Kwong Nai, Commander of the Cist Divi- sion, is reported to be sending a contingent from Swatow into the same region to assist in the task of routing the bandita.
