IN HONG KONG.

STREETS BEFLAGGED AND 'HOLIDAY CROWDS,

RECEPTIONS AT CHINESE CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS.

Hong Kong was very much en-fete for the Double Tenth. On the Pray the ship chandler, the shipping offices and all the varied businesses of a prosperous and busy waterfront had hung out Bags. The red and blue ensign with the white sun, of the Kuomintang-one of the most artistic flag designs in the world- naturally predominated but red ensigns were shown in large nunt- hers and there were many strings of commercial code signal flags. " The river boats had all dressed ship and, in the bright sunshine. of a pegleet day, the scene was as full of colour and as pieture- que as anyone could want.

In all streets the Kuomintang flag and the Union Jack were town-large. new ensigns and small "grubby ones In "Queen's Road and Des Vieux Road every establishment had cut bunting and there were fural designs over many restaurants..

Down at West Point elaborate decorations were going up all day, in préparation for this evening when Hong Kong's Piccadilly Ipoked more than ever like a living chapter of the Arabian nights.
