The V.R.C held a successful night fete in which two Championship events were decided; the South China Club held their Harbour race in which the winner employed the breast stroke almost all the way. INTERESTING TIE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP.
No fewer than four swimmers tied for the Club's championship in the South China A.A. sports held yesterday, afternoon at North Point, when there was a large guthering of members and friends to watch the proceedings.
Rain in the morning threatened to spoil the sport, but fortunately kept off long coough during the alternoon to enable the fixture to be carried through without delay.
The four swimmers who tied for championship honours were Me. Wong Ki Leung, Chan Ki Chung, Yeung Yuen Wah and Yeung Harg Wah.
Two of the club's records were lowered in the course of the after- noon's sport, the Bity metres being done in 31 2/5 seconds and the 200 metres being covered in 3 minutes 14 seconds.
