Defendant said that he had been asked by the boy's father to bring his two sone back to the country. The mother having sold the other son, he only took the complainant. The complainant's mother w questioned and said that her hus and had died several years ago!
Stating the facts of the case, Inspector James said that September 9th, the complainant was playing in front of his house at 314 Portland Street, when he was accosted by the defendant and asked to carry some firewood. The boy was to take the firewood and accompany was defendant,to Hong Kong, after which he would be with the defendant, who took him paid for, bis services. He went to Hong Kong, and then oa to a Macao steamer. It was alleged that the defendant refused to allow the boy to come off the Steamer and made him live in Macao for two days in a certain house. During their stay, the complainant would say that he had been taken to two different houses and examined and offered, he be lieved, for sale.
