H.K.C.C. BEAT M.B.K.
By beating the M.B. K. on Satur day, the Hong Kong Cricket Clubs can be said to have cleared their last serious obstacle in their pro- gress towards the "A Shield. The match was regarded as an im- portant one and chief interest in the "League programme centred on The winners, however, played up to form and secured & confort able margin in their favour by six sets to three, Go.dman and Me Eachran being mainly - responsible and contributing the maximum of three sets.
The Hong Kong C.C. have thus woa seven consecutive matches and have only one out- standing to play to complete their
it.
In the other mateb in the "A Division Club de Recreio secred their first victory at the expense of the University.
As expected some close, competi- tion was seen in the "B" Division. Recreio engaged the M.B.K. in a 3-4 set match, while the Y.M.C.A. and the University had similar encounter.

COCHET WINS MEN'S TENNIS CROWN.
WIMBLEDON FINALS.
MISS WILLS AGAIN SUCCESSFUL.
{THROUGH XECTER'S AGENCY.]
LONDON, July 0 Indall weather with heavy showers, the Finals started to-day at the Wimbledon. Queues formed during the morning, and Lacoste (Men's Singles holder) was
spectator.
Cochet beat Borotrà in the Final without being extended. Er scem- ed worried by the merriment caused by the Basque's mannerisms, but his strokes were, not affected, and he made the minimum of mistakes and put away the Basque's half-volleys superbly on beth flanks.
Borotra came to the net often, but was twice foot-laulted, and also made double faults, bat "neverthe- less had the sympathy of the crowd.
The greatest thrill of the day came in the Men's Doubles Final.
Allison's service was a winning factor, and worried Gregory, whose smashing powers were greatly res- tricted.
Miss Wills won her first Mixed Doubles title at Wimbledon. largely due to Hunter, whose piercing fore- hand. paved the way for many winners.
Result-Men's Singles Final. Cochet beat Borotra 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
Men's Doubles-Final. Allison and Van Ryn (U.S.A.) beat Gregory and Collins (Britain);
6-4, 5-7, 6-2, 10-12, 6-4.

A Chinese named Yau Foi. a. native of the Sun Wat district, was arrested at Ngau Sui Wan and charged before Mr. T. S. Whyte- Smith at Kowloon Magistracy on Saturday with possession of a quantity of jewellery believed to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained. Sergeant Fitches wis in charge of the case and asked for week's remand for enquiries "which was granted.
It was rated that one of the Pieces of jewellery had the name of
Clurk engraved on the back of! it, and it is suspected that the defendant is connected with the recent robbery of valuable jumal- lery from Miss Clark, an American missionary, in the Chinese terri tory.
We understand that lies Helen Clark died seme time ago and that her jewellery was stolen when the St. Francis Mission Hospital with which she footed
