Douglas Gifford and two Chinese, who were charged "with conspiracy to obtain money by false pretences, and with threaten- ing a Chinese woman living in Canton Road, were convicted on the first count by Mr. T. 8. Whyte Smith at Kowloon Magistracy on Saturday.
The defendants went to the com- plainant's flat in Canton Road and accused her of stealing elec tricity. They said that they were representatives of the "China" Light
