AVAILABLË.

The diplomatic correspondent of the London Morning Post last mouth wrote:-

In the matter of the Chinese claim to the abolition of extra-territória! rights, it is understood that the British Government has every in- tention: of offering the same con- cessions as were offered to.. Mr. Chen in 1927 by Mr. O'Malley, whe negotiated the Hankow agreement.

These

concessions, which reven in number, were enumerated at the time as follows:-

A slight further delay in paying the creditors cannot however be avoided, as it is necessary first to obtain a Cours Order consenting to the proposed arrangement; but ima mediate steps are being taken in respect to this.

It will be remembered that the Instone Banking Corporation, Ltd., suffered a severe blow last year from the action of the Kwangtung Pro- vincial Government in respect to the Company brauchce in Cantar 1/16 Tara Shrekki, and the retum tcrtion to liquidate was based on the ro alization that unless new capital were received adequate to replace the losser suffered by the Bank on that occasion, subsequent activities would necessarily be confined to a modified scale.
