Lawn bowls players are stretching their limbs in preparation for the League season which will start on the first Saturday of May and continue every week for three months. A successful athletic meeting was held at Sookunpoo yesterday by the Royal Artillery. Three Batteries were in competition, and the 31st Heavy Battery won the Unit Aggre- gate Cup with 112 points, 20th Heavy Battery being second with 56 points, and 19th Heavy Battery last with 29 points.

"For the sake of public safety and the welfare of the residents. the authorities of the Settlement bear a high responsibility. I there, fore hope that you will take the necessary action to make it possible for a resolution prohibiting grey, hound racing in the International Settlement, to be introduced at the coming Foreign Ratepayers' Meet- ing.
