Nankoen cloth is one of the minor exports of Kwangtung and quite large quantities were exported to France last month. Of 1,800 pack ages of nankeen exported in March over 900 packages went to France, 640 to the United States, 150 to Britain and 160 to Italy.

Prices of vegetables, have risen recently due to shortage of both arrival and stock. Of late there has been a brisk demand from Hong Kong. Vegetables of common grade such as cabbages are sold at pine dollars upwards per picut and there is every probability of still higher pricca.

Prites of fruit have also advanced and fruit is not lasting well this year. The semi-tropical climate of Kwangtung makes the Province one of the best fruit producing parts of China and large quantities of "lichee," oranges, pine-apples water-chestnuts and sugar-cane, bananas are exported:
