THE WOMAN'S CORNER.
Your Home and Mine.
ECONOMY IN DESSERTS.
Sometimes it happens that the housewife is faced with the necessity of making some curtailment in the food budget, and the first thing that comes to her mind is dessert less often. The last course is invariably the one to suffer because it is always argued that-it can be done without And so it can, but to those of us who have always looked forward to the end-of-the-meal delicacy and have missed it when it was not forthcoming such a decision would be hard for us to become resigned
to.
Rather would we rack our braina for old recipes, or make up new ones, which do not require many or expensive ingredients.
BEAUTIFUL PLAIN WOMEN.

Beauty, it is said, is only skin deer--Often in a woman it is more, for real beauty comes not only from her face, but from her soul: and soul. beauty is not by any means a gift of the gods. It is a particular tharm, to be cultivated at will, the casential of which is the gentle art of understanding those among whom

First you must choose the lightest and finest face powder tinted to match your skin. This should be lightly dusted on, after you have smoothed your foundation cream into the skin, and never rubbed into the skin. If your powder puff is not clean, the results will not be all that they might be, quite obviously. After the powder is applied evenly (and lightly) all over the face and neck, it is time for the rest of the make-up.
Rouge and lipstick should, of couras, match and they should also. follow your natural colouring in so far as is possible. If you don't know where to put on the rouge, pat the cheeks briskly until the blood comes to the surface-and the rouge only where you would ordinarily have colour.
Don't attempt to re-make your mouth more to your satisfaction with your lipstick. If your lips aro tion to them with any additional colouring--otherwise follow the natural line.
