The motor vessel Ruby Castle was towed into port by the Kowloon Dock Salvage tug Henry Keswick and reported that she had been stranded off Galo Island, Philip pine Islands She is now at the Kowloon Docks where a general survey of her hull is being made. The vessel arrived in ballast. She is owned by the Lancashire Ship ping Co, Ltd., for whom Mesra, Chambers & Co. are Managers. The local agents are Messrs. Dodwell & Co.

The vessel was built in 1995 by the Caledonian. S.B. Co., Ltd., of. Dunden with snett tonnage of 3,073 tons, and gross, 4,996 tons. She bas oil angines which develop 3,000 LH.P., and 636 N.H.P. Hor 6,668 engines were installed by the N.E. Marine Engineering Co., Ltd, of Newcastle. Her dimensions: are Length 100.1 ft., Beam 52.4 ft., and Depth 28.4 ft. Capt. G. C. Edwards is in command with a crew of: 23 Britishers and 27 Asiatics.

The sa Gottingen (German) ar zived from Bremen and Singapore with a heavy cargo of general mer- chandise for Hong Kong and through ports. She is owned by the Norddeutsche Lloyd Company, and Messrs. Melchers are the local agents. She was buik in 1907 by the Brenner Vulkan, of Yegesack with a grit tonage of 3,397 and gross, 5,488 tons. Her engines, which develop 337 N.H.P., were installed by the builders. Her' dimension are Length 128.7 ft., Beam 54.5 ft., and Depth 27.9 ft. Captain L Heyer is in command. with-a crew of 47 Europeans Called in to Hong Kong for Armed Guard,
