LONDON, February (U.P.). The year 1929 pron ver series of record breaking. Nations of the world will attempt to "out-record" each other in efforts to break the existing air, land, and sea records. Britain's two automobile speed kings, Segrave and Campbell, will attempt to set up new figures for automobile speed racing, and Segrave will also attempt to improve upon. Gar Wood's speed-boat record of a3 miles an hour.

Britain, Italy, and Germany, have planes with which they hope. to create new long-distance and endurance records; new dirigible, are under construction in the United States, Britain, and Ger many new ocean greyhounds are being built in the principal shipyards of the world. Indeed, so keen is the rivalry between Europe and the United States, that all records for transatlantic crossings will probably be broken.

Captain Malcolm Campbell hopes to win back the much coveted automobile record, at present held by Ray Keech, the United States speed king.

Super-Dirigiblan.

In all probability, several new records will be established this year, by super-dirigibles, now under construction. For the past few years Germany has been making great strides with these clippers of the clouds," but her position will be seriously challenged by the United States, and Britain, during this summer.

Both nations are building two super-Airships each, and one of Britain's costly "experiments will be ready for trials very shortly. This 3,000,000 cubic feet gas. capacity. On the outward journey, the R100 will only carry a working crew," but she will return to Britain with a full complement of passengers, some of whom have already paid fee of £1,000 to make the return trip.

One of Campbell's bardest problems was the transportation of fuel, which he solved by purchasing a small "moth "airplane, with which he plans to fly, to and from Capetown. Campbell is receiving every possible assistance from the authorities, who fully realise the value of the publicity given to these events.
