Recognising the argent necessity for immediate steps to be taken to improve Hong Kong's at present inadequate water supply, the Legislative Council yesterday afternoon unanimously agreed. to adopt Sir Henry Pollock's motion, details of which appeared in a recent issue of the Daily Press. His Excellency the Governor pronounced himself highly gratiñed at the Council's attitude towards the scheme,..

The Council also confirmed the approval of the Governor given in Council on the 9th instant for the Tramway Company to construct a single track connecting, the present Shaukiwan Terminus with Shaukiwan Village, also three additional loops or passing places in Shaukiwan Boad be- tween North Point and Quarry Bay.
